

APOLLO HOSPITALS-INDIA & SRI LANKAN HOLIDAYS ( Division of Sri Lankan Airlines) LAUNCH OF PREVENTIVE HEALTH TRAVEL PACKAGE -EXCLUSIVE TO SRI LANKAN AIRLINES PASSENGERS & APOLLO's FREE SECOND MEDICAL OPINION- HOTLINE LAUNCH IN SRI LANKA LAUNCHED BY Hon. Lalith Dissanayaka- Dy. Minister of Health- Republic of Sri Lanka It was an afternoon that saw two of the biggest brands in the region coming together in a mission on healthcare. Afro-Asia’s largest Healthcare group , the Apollo Hospitals Group- India and Sri Lanka’s national carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines through its Division, Sri Lankan Holidays launched an exclusive preventive health travel package for the passengers of Sri Lankan Airlines flying into India. This is the first of its kind initiative for the passengers of Sri Lankan airlines which flies into 5 destinations in to South India. The event also witnessed another noble initiative by Med Connect, the representative office of Apollo Hospitals Group- India announcing a Free Second Medical Opinion Hot Line in Sri Lanka. This is again the first of its kind initiative in the country with an International Healthcare provider. Speaking at the occasion, Hon.Lalith Dissanayaka, stated that the Government of Sri Lanka has priortised quality healthcare delivery as its biggest mission and he welcomes integreation of Sri Lankan Healthcare with the best systems in the world. He congratulated Sri Lankan Holidays and Apollo Hospitals for this initiative and stated that Med Connect’s SMO service is unique and its important to have Second Medical Opinion considering the ever widening disease patterns and challenges in handling and to explore the technological changes in healthcare delivery. Apollo Hospitals delegation was led by Mr Jithu Jose- General Manager- International Division and he stated that at Apollo , we believe that healthcare delivery is a shared responsibility and should not be bound by geographical boundaries. We are proud to associate with Sri Lankan Airlines and their holiday division. Through this arrangement a person booking a regular ticket to any of Sri Lankan Airlines routes to South India can also get a specially discounted package on preventive healthcare and for those flying into Chennai, they can avail this discount on India’s most comprehensive preventive check up schemes titled as Apollo Platinum check ups. Another advantage to this is the fact that the entire service is made as a pre-paid system and the customer will have a totally hassle free experience. On the HotLine , he remarked that it would all super specialties and will also give an additional option of tele medicine should the doctor or patient wants direct interaction. Sri Lankan Holidays was represented by Mr Gayan Peris and he stated that beyond holidays, the division is happy to offer an healthcare advantage too its customers. He also mentioned that his team is quite excited to offer this service and it would be an added advantage to both Indians and Sri Lankans flying in these sectors.
