The government has decided to increase the prices of cigarettes, beer and local and international alcohol. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance the price of a cigarette has been increased by Rs. 3.
Prices of beer have also been raised by Rs.40 and Rs.60, according to the level of alcohol contained per litre. Accordingly prices of locally manufactured liquor have been raised by Rs.110 per litre, while the price of internationally manufactured liquor has been raised by Rs.160 per litre.
