The President had granted permission for a national level Trade Union
Advisory Council chaired by the Presidential Secretary and a few
ministers.
The permission for the advent was granted thus on the occasion when a few representatives of the Trade Union for a Just Society met the President yesterday at the President’s House.
Several requests including the addition of 10k allowance to the salary of government servants, confirmation of the equal representation of the state and private sectors in the National Labour Advisory Council, making Manpower employees permanent and the obtaining of Parliamentary approval for an increment of salary by Rs2500 for employees in the private sector.
