Members of the Sri Lankan contingent to the South Asian Games will have to submit affidavits to say they have been made aware of banned performance enhancing drugs, said chairman of the anti-doping agency Prof. Arjuna de Silva. The agency intends to test samples of selected athletes, which will take place seven days before the contingent leaves the country. The tests will be preceded by a seminar on banned drugs, to be held in Colombo for all athletes, trainers and officials. The SAG takes place in Guwahati and Shillong from 5 to 16 of February. The Sri Lankan contingent comprises 257 male and 227 female athletes. At the Colombo SAG, short distance runner Jani Chaturangani de Silva was accused of using banned drugs, while one athlete from Nepal and two Pakistani boxers were found guilty of similar charges.
