John Kerry Calls Sushma Swaraj
US Secretary of State John Kerry called External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj late last night. The External Affairs Minister said that she discussed the issue of re-energising strategic partnership between the two countries. This was the first call received by Sushma Swaraj from the US Secretary of State after she assumed duties as the Indian External Affairs Minister. Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin stated that John Kerry congratulated the victory of the BJP as well as the appointment of Sushma Swaraj as the Indian External Affairs Minister.
