The
construction of a separate terminal has been planned at the Colombo
harbour to dock large cruise ships used for tourist transport, said Sri
Lanka Ports Authority Chairman Lakdasa Panagoda.
While speaking at a meeting hosted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, he added that the new government has been actively planning this project during the past six months.
Though after the war the attention of large cruise ship owners had turned towards Colombo harbour, the absence of a dedicated terminal for such vessel has been a huge drawback.
